In Microsoft Teams (free), you can easily get someone’s attention in a group chat or community using @ mentions.

To @ mention someone in a group chat:

  1. Go to the chat and type an @ into the Type a new message window.

  2. Start typing the person’s name directly after the @; any matching names in the chat will display above the Type a message window, and you can select the one you want.

  3. After selecting the person you want to mention, type your message, then select the Send  Send button button.

The person you mentioned will receive a notification, which they can select to view your message.
