Symptoms
Assume that you add a Microsoft account as a Windows user account on a computer that's running Windows 10 or Windows Server 2016, and you also have Microsoft SQL Server 2016 or 2017 installed on the computer. When you create a login that maps to the Windows user account, the SUSER_SNAME function returns a result that's different from the result returned in SQL Server 2014.
Resolution
This issue is fixed in the following cumulative updates for SQL Server:
