This article describes cumulative update package 11 (build number 12.0.2560.0) for Microsoft SQL Server 2014. This update contains hotfixes for issues that were fixed after the release of SQL Server 2014.Note Because of a known issue (mismatch between qds.dll and sqlserver.exe), after you install this cumulative update (CU11 for SQL Server 2014), you can't upgrade your instance to SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1 directly . If you need to update to Service Pack 1 from CU11 and still retain the fixes through CU11, use these steps:

  1. Uninstall CU11 by using Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel.

  2. Download and install SP1 from the download center at Microsoft SQL Server 2014 Service Pack 1 (SP1).

  3. Download and install CU4 for SP1 from Cumulative Update 4 for SQL Server 2014 SP1.
