If you have a shared notebook, and you don’t want other people to see or edit it anymore, you can remove permissions for one or all users, or change the sharing permission settings.

If you want to stop someone from editing your notebook, but still let them view it, change their permissions from Can edit to Can view.​​​​​​​

To stop all sharing, delete all the sharing links and stop sharing with people who have direct access.

To prevent a specific person from seeing or editing your notebook, you can change the Shared with permissions.

  1. Open the relevant notebook.

  2. Select  Share from the upper right corner of the window.

  3. Select Manage access.

  4. Choose to remove one or more People, or remove and disable your Links​​​​​​​.

  5. ​​​​​​​To remove access completely, select the person's  Can edit or  Can view option.​​​​​​​

To stop sharing a notebook shared with others:

  1. In the upper-right, click the Share icon.

  2. Under Shared with, Control-click the name of someone whom the notebook is currently shared with.

  3. Click Stop sharing.

To stop sharing a notebook:

  1. Tap the ... icon in the upper right corner of the app window.

  2. Tap Share Notebook.

  3. Tap Shared With.

  4. Select the person's name you want to stop sharing with, and then tap Remove.

You cannot manage sharing via the Android app.

To manage sharing, please use a desktop app or sign in at onenote.com

  1. Open the relevant notebook.

  2. Select  Share from the upper right corner of the window.

  3. Select Manage access.
